Biomass Mediated Synthesis of ZnO and ZnO/GO for the Decolorization of Methylene Blue under Visible Light Source

In this study, zinc oxide (ZnO) as well ZnO/GO (zinc oxide/graphene oxide) were successfully synthesized. The Carica papaya leaf extract was used to synthesize ZnO and oil palm empty fruit bunch biomass obtain graphene, which further graphene oxide. samples characterized through a variety of analytical methods such scanning electron microscopy, transmission X-ray diffraction analysis, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy UV–Visible in order understand their morphology, size, structural phase purity, functional groups optical properties. Various peaks O-H, Zn-OH Zn-O found the case ZnO. Some additional peaks, C-C C=C, also been detected while analyzing sample by Fourier-transform spectroscopy. results XRD SEM studies demonstrated that synthesized material shows crystalline nature substance ZnO, crystallinity decreases for ZnO/GO. average crystallite size 80.0 nm 74.0 Further, red shift shown ZnO/GO, indicated UV–Vis absorption spectrum. TEM particles be nanosized. For instance, highest number range 100 120 80–100 sized Using decolorization methylene blue 64% 91%, respectively.
